The Interior Designer

Tim and the crew of his Comet tank load 17 pounder ammunition on the ranges, 1952

Although he loved the desert and would happily have stayed with “the Skins”, the family business called.  At the end of his service Tim moved to the Territorial Army and joined The Sharpshooters, serving for a further happy six years, rising to be a squadron second in command.

Tim left The Sharpshooters shortly before the 1961 amalgamation with the Kent Yeomanry and his wedding was the last to include a guard of honour of Sharpshooters sergeants in their green caps before the uniform changed.  He maintained his contact with both former regiments and for several years he was our regimental museum curator.
