Pair of Drum Banners, West Kent Yeomanry, c1865

Pair of drum banners, dark blue cloth with silver on red embroidery and silver lace border.

A press cutting of 1937 notes that they were 'over 100 years old and were found in a secondhand shop in the West Country'. However the inclusion of the title 'Queen's Own' above the horse and the absence of 'West' in the title indicates that they mu st date from after the award of the title 'Queen's Own' in 1864.
