Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum
Hever Castle

The armoury, on the top floor of the castle keep, houses the regimental museum of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry by kind permission of Broadland Properties Ltd. It was opened by HRH Princess Alexandra, deputy honorary colonel of the Royal Yeomanry on 20th July 1985

Every two or three years the two Squadrons of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry meet at Hever Castle to celebrate the Battle of Alem El Halfa in August 1942 when both the Kent Yeomanry and the Sharpshooters were involved in the battle which marked the turning point in the war in the Western Desert.

Please note : Admission to the Regimental Museum is included in the Castle ticket, but on busy days throughout the season, access may not be possible. Those particularly wishing to visit the Regimental Museum are advised to telephone ahead to check accessibility.
